A wait of three years is nearly over with the release of David's fifth solo album scheduled for early 2004. It is the third album co-produced by Hughes and Mark Tucker. Recorded at Woodworm Studio, Oxfordshire, and in "Ibiza", Mark Tucker's base in Devon. The new album will feature Gerry Conway on drums and percussion, Martin Brunsden on double bass and bowed saw, backing vocalists Jacqui McShee, Helen Watson, Chris While and Julie Matthews and, on "I Drive a Red Car Now", Johnny Mars plays harmonica.

The album features the priceless contributions of Gerry Conway, drums & perc; plus: Jacqui McShee and Eddi Reader vocals; Dave Mattacks, drums on two tracks; Danny Thompson, double bass; Spencer Cozens, keyboards;  Anna Ryder, accordion, brass and vocals; Dave Pegg, bass on one track plus vocal, Simon Nicol & Chris Leslie, vocal.

Recorded in the summer of 1997 at Woodworm Studio, Oxfordshire. Engineer - Mark Tucker. Gerry Conway underpins the entire work with drums & perc. Jacqui McShee, vocals; Spencer Cozens, keyboards on two tracks; Dave Pegg bass on one track; Matt Pegg plays double bass on 'Matilda'.

Recorded in the winter of 94-95 at Chiswick Reach, the all-valve studio, West London. Engineer - Vic Keary. This was the first album David worked on with Gerry Conway and Jacqui McShee.

Hypertension HYCD 200 126 (Sept 92)

Recorded on a 16 track machine, winter 92 in Stratford, East London. Engineer - David Fowler. The last two tracks were taken from sessions a year earlier at Chiswick Reach (formerly The Works) and engineered by Andy Lucas. A transitional work including material from the early to mid eighties alongside fresher writing more in line with the songs on the later albums. Mostly solo (including percussion) the album includes contributions from Ric Sanders, Roy Dodds, Mick Linnard and G.T.Moore.
