David has increasingly accepted production commissions for
broadcast and corporate clients. His recent work has included commissions from
The Design Council, BBC Radio Scotland, cutting edge Internet foundry company
Enformatica Ltd and information management gurus, Clifford Thames
Ltd. Working with Mark Tucker (engineer for Tom Jones, Portishead, Jethro Tull etc) and with a broad range of elite musicians to call upon, he has produced customised soundscapes from a broad variety of briefs His most recent commission came from the Design Council. He produced a soundtrack for their video "A Meeting Of Minds" directed by Nick Skeens and shown at the DTI. For the BBC he produced a programme ID and incidental "breaks" for the team who produced the Sony award-winning "Bundhu Diaries" documentary. The brief for the programme, "Writer's Draft", featuring authors in their work-place such as Fay Weldon, Pat Barker, William Boyd and Alasdair Gray, was for "no music, just the sound of writing." For Enformatica Ltd, specialists in broadband streaming and satellite technology for the Internet, David produced a corporate video soundtrack. Another recent project was an "on-hold" message with backing composition loop for Clifford Thames. He also layered the "Your call is important to us" message. Other work has included theatre and festival 'backcloth' soundtracks, audio/visual presentation. His soundtracks are used extensively in the film editing suites in Berlin.
