![]() COASTAL INSPIRATIONS ITV ANGLIA Programme 2: Maldon 7.30 pm THURSDAY, 30TH MARCH, 2006 Over this eleven part series we follow art enthusiast and travel writer Paul Gogarty as he sails in an old fishing smack 'The Excelsior', stopping off to visit the artists, writers, musicians and craftspeople who live, work and draw inspiration from this beautiful coastline. Paul's journey takes him from Burnham-on-Crouch in Essex through Suffolk and finally ending the series in Norfolk with a visit to Kings Lynn and the Wash. Along the way he meets up with some of the many 'known' artists and also some of the unsung artistes, picking up a myriad of arty tips along the way. We also discover some of the history of the area and take in some of the classic views along this nationally acclaimed stretch of coastline that has attracted and inspired many an artist over the years. David features (along with his brother, stain glass artist, Ian) in the second episode which concentrates on artists in Maldon. He's interviewed by Paul Gogarty and filmed playing "Two Stroke" sitting on the hold of a sailing barge at the town quay. ![]() |
