COASTAL INSPIRATIONS
ITV ANGLIA
Programme 2: Maldon
7.30 pm
THURSDAY, 30TH MARCH, 2006

Over this eleven part series we follow art enthusiast and travel
writer Paul Gogarty as he sails in an old fishing smack 'The
Excelsior', stopping off to visit the artists, writers, musicians and
craftspeople who live, work and draw inspiration from this
beautiful coastline. Paul's journey takes him from
Burnham-on-Crouch in Essex through Suffolk and finally ending
the series in Norfolk with a visit to Kings Lynn and the Wash.
Along the way he meets up with some of the many 'known'
artists and also some of the unsung artistes, picking up a myriad
of arty tips along the way. We also discover some of the history
of the area and take in some of the classic views along this
nationally acclaimed stretch of coastline that has attracted and
inspired many an artist over the years.

David features (along with his brother, stain
glass artist, Ian) in the second episode which
concentrates on artists in Maldon. He's
interviewed by Paul Gogarty and filmed playing "Two
Stroke" sitting on the hold of a sailing barge
at the town quay.
